Swap Screen Time for Sea Stars, Fishy Friends and Real-Life Conservation these school holidays at Dolphin Discovery Centre
What if your child could spend their holidays doing the things a marine biologist actually does? Become a marine biologist for the day!
Designed for ages 6 and above (adults too!), budding ocean explorers can get hands-on with marine life while discovering what it takes to protect our oceans.
“We wanted to give kids a genuine insight into what marine conservation looks like,” says Ella Stuttard, Conservation Manager at Dolphin Discovery Centre. “They’ll experience the hands-on side of the work, from coral propagation and turtle rescue to learning how to respond when a dolphin becomes stranded.”
Participants can touch a sea cucumber, feed a sea anemone, learn how coral is propagated and see what to do in a dolphin stranding. They’ll also receive exclusive access to the JBS&G Turtle Rehabilitation Centre to meet Huzza, our rescued loggerhead turtle hatchling – an animal not on public display. Such a treat!
Back on land, it’s time to meet incredible reptiles, including huge pythons, lizards and even venomous snakes.
“We wanted conservation to feel exciting and accessible for the whole family,” says Emily Ehlers, Marketing Manager. “Kids aren’t just learning about the ocean – they’re touching, exploring, asking questions and meeting the animals that make it so incredible.”
With science, conservation and adventure rolled into one, this is a school holiday experience with a difference.
